Abstract :
Attempting to expound on the relation between religion and science, which is considered one of the specially important questions, the author examines Ian Barbour ‘s view about the relation between the two. The article begins with a brief account of Ian Barbour 's and works. Then Barbour' s ideas concerning the methodological parallels between religion and science arcs discussed, According to Barbour, both religous beliefs and scientific theories fail in the province of epistemology, and so he believes that they have a lot in common, The article points out the main ideas presented in two of Barbour's hooks Issues in Science and Religion and Religion in the Age of Science to bring out the methodological similarities including the resemblance in structure, criteria of evaluation, and paradigms.To sum up, the author criticizes and rejects some of Barbour 's opinions but he, like Barbour, agrees that there is no contradiction between religion anti science.
